New England Bee Supply - Healthy, productive bees

5 Frame Nucleus Colonies

At New England Bee Supply, our 5 Frame Nucs are built for success. Each nuc includes a healthy, actively laying queen, several frames of brood and food stores, and a strong population of worker bees ready to expand into a full colony.

Our early-season nucs are established in Georgia during the Ti-Ti honey flow in March, allowing colonies to grow under ideal spring conditions before heading north. While the bees ultimately determine the exact frame composition, each nuc typically includes 2–3 frames of brood and 1–2 frames of honey.

Before reaching you, every nuc is inspected by the Massachusetts Apiary Inspectors to ensure it is free of serious contagious diseases. We also provide a two-week queen guarantee following pickup, giving you time to install your colony and perform your first inspection. If you identify any queen-related issue during that period, please reach out promptly so we can arrange a replacement.

Although the nuc includes honey for initial feeding, it’s important to supplement with sugar syrup once your bees are installed in their new hive. Consistent weekly feeding encourages growth and helps your colony quickly establish a strong population.

Please note: One frame may occasionally be empty or drawn but unused.

Nuc Colony Pickup Date:  March 28, 2026*

Pickup timing may vary depending on weather and colony readiness. A confirmation email will be sent several days before pickup with the final schedule and details.

3 lb Package Bees

Our 3-pound packages contain approximately 10,000 bees and a young, mated queen ready to establish your new colony. These packages are a great choice for both new and experienced beekeepers who want to start fresh with their own equipment and foundation.

The bees are sourced from strong, healthy colonies in Georgia, where early spring conditions allow them to build up well before transport. Each package includes a mated queen in a separate cage, along with worker bees ready to accept her and begin building comb and brood in their new home.

Before distribution, all packages are inspected to ensure the bees are healthy and free from serious contagious diseases. We provide a two-week queen guarantee following pickup, giving you time to install your bees and confirm that your queen is laying properly. If a queen issue arises during that time, please contact us promptly so we can arrange a replacement.

It is essential to feed your new colony sugar syrup immediately after installation and continue regular feeding until the bees have established brood and begun storing food. Consistent feeding helps your new package grow into a strong, productive hive.
